Frequently asked questions

The questions asked most in game chat and on GitHub. If yours is not here, reach us below.

Getting started

I'm moving from the previous bot. What happens to my settings?

They carry over as they are. Share codes and backup files from the previous bot open in OSB too.

Turn off the old script first: two bots cannot run in one tab.

Tampermonkey or OSB Manager?

For one account, Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey is enough; the bot runs in the game tab of your browser.

To run several accounts at once, install OSB Manager. Each account opens in its own window with its own browser profile. You add OSB in the Manager's Scripts tab.

Does it cost anything?

No. Both are open source: OSB under GPL-2.0-or-later, OSB Manager under GPL-3.0. All of the code is on GitHub.

OSB

The bot stopped. Why?

The status line in the panel says why, and the Setup page shows what is missing. The Activity log names the reason for every town trip.

If you cannot fix it, save a report with Settings › Send bug report and open a GitHub issue.

What happens after a disconnect?

Reconnect is always on. The bot waits for the game's own retries, then enters the character again, for up to 12 hours. It never types or stores your password.

If the session is gone, you log in yourself. With auto login on in OSB Manager, the Manager gets through the login screen.

Does it work in Safari?

With the free Userscripts app or Tampermonkey for Safari, on Safari 15.4 or later. It is untested.

Keep the game tab visible: Safari slows down background tabs and the bot can stall.

Does it work on iPhone or iPad?

No. iOS suspends the page when you leave Safari, and the bot stops with it.

OSB Manager

How many accounts can my PC run?

There is no fixed limit; the CPU and graphics memory decide.

On macOS with 1.0.0, one account in the game world used 0.50 cores hidden and in light mode. On Windows, the 60 FPS limit took one window on the title screen from 134% to 58% of a core. With OSB hunting, minimising the window took it from 196% to 45% of a core and from 3.2 GB to 2.4 GB of RAM. Each window also holds about 0.8 GB of graphics memory; light mode and minimising do not free it.

Does it run on an Intel Mac or on Linux?

OSB Manager exists only for Windows 10 and 11, and for macOS 26 or later on Apple Silicon. There is no Manager build for Intel Macs or Linux.

After an update my Mac asks about the Keychain.

The app is signed locally, not by Apple, so macOS can ask once for a new build. Always Allow stops the question for that build.

If you press Deny, type the password again in the Account tab; that works too.

Does the Manager update itself?

No. You download the new version from GitHub. OSB itself checks for its own updates.

Security and data

Does OSB send data anywhere?

No. It sends nothing to us or to anyone else. It only fetches updates and route data from raw.githubusercontent.com and api.github.com.

Even the bug report is not uploaded: you preview it, copy it or save it as a file.

Does OSB Manager send data anywhere?

No. The Manager talks only to opensro.online and to the script addresses you add. It sends no statistics or usage data.

Where does the Manager keep my password?

On Windows it is encrypted with DPAPI; only your Windows user can decrypt it, and not on another PC. On macOS it is in the Keychain.

The password is sent only while the window shows https://opensro.online/ and the page asks for it. It is never written to the log.

Can using a bot harm my account?

The game's operators set and enforce its rules. OSB is independent of them and cannot give any guarantee for your account. Knowing the rules and taking the risk is up to you.
